Common sense dictates that we should avoid known causes of cancer,
such as smoking, and to eat a varied and balanced diet, including
plenty of fruits and vegetables. Proper diet is not only better
for the body, but has been shown to help protect against carcinogens.
Dieticians suggest eating five or more servings of fruits and vegetables
daily, avoiding excessive consumption of fats, and including generous
portions of fiber, as the best defense against cancer.
